We loved going to the beach right in front of the house we stayed at, Loggerhead. We had to watch the kids close because the waves had a strong pull back out. The older kids and Craig went boggy boarding, The water was really cold and you got use to it after a while, it was hot out.
This is the pier right by our house, was damaged by Hurricane Isabel in 2003.
